Between Flesh and Field

Between Flesh and Field is an ongoing research project rooted in the food forest De Overtuin, where I explore how our relationship with the more-than-human world is shaped through language, perception, and material engagement. Through foraging, observing seasonal changes, and working alongside plants, my research has gradually shifted from questioning how language shapes our understanding of nature to investigating perception itself; how we notice, interpret, and relate to the living world before we put it into words.

Working with foraged materials, the research unfolds through handmade paper, sculptural pieces, plant pigments, experimental prints, weaving, and an artist book that documents the process through notes, botanical observations, and material explorations. Rather than presenting fixed knowledge, the project follows what emerges through attention, repetition, and long-term engagement with a place. The research will culminate in a new installation, presented during the graduation show at C3.
